As most of you might be aware, I lost my brother earlier this year. It was not due to old age, illness, or some natural progression in life, but he died by the hand of a lawman in Jamaica, through the improper use of lethal force. How long shall we stand by and just watch as innocent sons and daughters are gunned down by extrajudicial exercises of the law.
I am caught in a precarious place. No one can truly say that I don't know what police officers go through. I am fully aware of their challenges as I have to live with some of their fears each day. Indeed, another one of my brothers is a decorated police officer, and each day I worry and pray about his well-being. However, when will it ever be right for him to shoot an unarmed man fifty times without probable cause? When will it ever be right to shoot another human being 3 times at close range when he is still on the ground?
I have always read and even heard comments like these, but never thought I would ever be the author of one. My loss might be yours one day. In fact, it already is. You just don't realize it yet. Speak up!

Your Favorite Jamaican Foods
Lawd Jesus, I need a break from all this political mumbo jumbo. As much as Kimani loves to delve into those particular shark-infested waters I need a break.
As much of a health nut that I am, anything Jamaican is automatically exempted from my nutritional restrictions.
So here is a partial list of my favorite foods, and definitely not in any particular order. What's yours?
-Shirley Biscuits (They taste different when they're imported.)
-Patty
-Ting
-Brown Stew Chicken
-Oxtail
-Pan Chicken (preferably from Red Hills road late at night...or rather early in the morning.)
-Drops
-Asham
-Tamarind Balls (I like the Honeycomb Brand)
-Steamed Fish with Exelsior Water Crackers (Bammy is a plus!)

The Heart of the Matter
Ok, ok Mr. Kimani, we get it. You are smitten with Hillary. Personally, it's still a toss up between both candidates since I have not been convinced either way.
My scenario is this: Pretend you were Hillary's campaign manager and convince me why I should vote for your candidate and not the other.
A little p.s. for our readers...Kimani has decided to be gracious and loosen up the "blogger strings" so that MOB and I can jump into discussions and have things a little more balanced around these parts.

Thoughts
I find it interesting how I have been told that I would sell Marcus Garvey out fi rice on numerous times, been told that I would make a good house nigger and also accused of practicing reverse racism, because as a college educated black man from the islands, I chose to support Hillary over Barack because I feel she is the better candidate. Never the less I will continue my support and go up with the banners and signs of Hillary 08 in my yard, and I wish a mo'fo would try some shit. Race is undoubtedly a factor whether one believes so or not, and for those who think Mr. Obama has this victory sewn up against Hillary and John McCain, I would beg them to think again.
We need Barak
I guess I need to pen a song for Hillary Clinton, now Dancehall DJ Movado has jumped on the bandwagon to re-voice a hit towards Mr. Obama. I guess we can expect more to come, still my DJ though.
